Horizon Recruitment has been engaged to identify a Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Planning for our large scale client with diverse needs in their capital planning. This position will partner and share expertise in relation to accurate representation of capital projects, financial analysis, capital budgeting, auditing and other key analytical information for the purpose of enhancing management reporting and decision making.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with finance people throughout the organization, consolidates the interim and year end financial reports and forecasts including a written variance analysis as required for the Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Prepare comprehensive and timely reports and briefings as requested.
  • Prepare the consolidated Budget Management Plan and assist the Director with completion of the annual Service Plan.
  • In collaboration with senior staff, identifies opportunities for increased operational and financial resource utilization. Contributes financial expertise required for service delivery modeling, funding applications, operational reviews, and business process improvement reviews.
  • Effectively engaging diverse stakeholders with accurate information, including detailed analysis and summarized recommendations to ensure funding and expenditures align to the Board of Governors approved budgets and compliance with restrictions attached to the funding where required.
  • Lead in analyzing and providing recommendations to solve complex capital financial reporting and planning issues for the organization.

Requirements:

  • CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is required
  • Experience working in large size / complex organizations
  • 3+ years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Well adept in team leadership and management
  • Strong skills and experience working on capital projects is an asset
  • Good problem solving, analytical and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Salary range: $90-105K depending on experience.
