Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged to identify a skilled Production Planner for a company based in the lower mainland with a complex portfolio of fabrication and assembly projects.
The role manages production quality and ensures adequate materials and labor are available for required production schedules.
Initially a 12-month contract term this role has the potential for long term work for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and work with production ensuring smooth flow of activities, labor and materials
- Identify areas for improvement, ways to better manage production work packages and gain efficiencies, and cost reductions.
- Set up and maintain optimal material flow through work cells.
- Oversee and coordinate with Production on specific assembly procedures and shop orders. Track and report on completion rates and progress of orders.
- Monitor progress and material burn rates.
- Coordinate change requests with Engineering and production teams
- Ensure materials are properly tracked and allocated to each job for reporting purposes.
- Prioritize fabrication, assembly, and installation requirements
- Responsible for production area planning and organizational flow.
- Create and maintain production BOM’s
- Liaise with internal departments to coordinate operational development.
- Plan and roadmap manufacturing requirements and capabilities.
Requirements:
- Trades certificate from a recognized program and/or technical diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar preferred.
- 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong ERP & MRP system experience.
- Experience in optimizing Materials planning processes
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite especially Word and Excel.
- Experience reading CAD / managing blueprints
Remuneration:
- $35-45/hr
