Just HR has been engaged to conduct the search for a Manager, Human Resources for a global company specializing in workforce accommodations, marine construction, and services. The Manager, Human Resources will oversee all HR functions for the company's three expanding business units. This role includes a comprehensive range of HR responsibilities such as labor relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits management, travel coordination, and contract oversight. The HR Manager will foster an employee-centric, high-performance culture focused on quality, productivity, and standards, while also spearheading the recruitment and development of a top-notch workforce. Occasional travel to local and international project sites may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's overall goals.
- Develop and oversee HR strategies, systems, and procedures across all departments.
- Facilitate effective communication between management and employees, fostering a supportive environment.
- Address and resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Conduct thorough, unbiased investigations as needed.
- Ensure legal compliance in daily employee management to mitigate risks.
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures.
- Communicate HR policies and procedures effectively to all employees.
- Regularly review and revise policies to comply with laws and best practices.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies to employees and management.
- Ensure consistent and fair application of policies and procedures.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for all departments.
- Design and implement tailored recruitment strategies for specific projects or positions.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new employees integrate smoothly.
- Manage the BambooHR system to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Administer employee benefits programs and act as a liaison for benefits-related issues.
- Oversee employment contract management, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Maintain records of employee contracts, monitoring expiration dates and renewals.
- Support and coach managers on performance management and employee development.
- Manage the annual performance review program.
- Ensure adherence to international, federal, provincial, and seafarer employment laws.
- Stay updated on industry trends and employment legislation.
- Collaborate with the Ship Management Company to ensure compliance with international standards.
- Identify training needs and develop or source relevant professional development programs.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (CPHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience.
- Preferably, experience and knowledge in the marine sector.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of local and international employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with HRIS and talent management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Remuneration:
$100,000 to $120,000
