Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged to identify a Management Accountant for our large scale retail client locations around the world. They currently need someone who can take care of the day to day finance for one large location. On top of the financial accounting, this person will also work on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis. This diverse role provides an excellent opportunity to do different things and not be pigeonholed into a small scope.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the financial records in a timely and accurate manner ensuring integrity and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate accounting policies and contribute to their interpretation to ensure quality of reporting and decision making.
  • Prepare monthly reporting for management and support the quarterly reporting for management and investors.
  • Prepare budget and forecast documents, including capex & cashflow forecast
  • Prepare the required reporting for the relevant banks to comply with the covenants agreed in the facility agreement, book bank and other cash accounts.
  • Produce GST and PST returns for review by the Senior Finance Manager in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support treasury operations and booking interest accruals on external finance and distributions to shareholders, to ensure accurate and timely cash transfer and book recording.
  • Listen to end users and include their feedback in the formulation of procedures and reports, ensuing information is meaningful, accurate, and adds value at all times.
  • Provide financial reporting and respond to ad-hoc requests from owners to facilitate decision making.
  • Provision of information to external auditors, including any details or reconciliations of balance sheet or income statement accounts, and support on any queries raised.
  • Coordinate with the AP function to ensure all supplier invoices are coded and booked correctly ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data to enable the timely closing of the company’s books at month end

Requirements:

  • CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or working toward one
  • Experience working in midsized organizations in hands-on role positions
  • 5+ years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Good problem solving, analytical and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Salary range: $70-75k depending on experience.
