Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting a search for an experienced Intermediate Accountant for a leading software company. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a focused committed team who are leading their niche space through their fully integrated, cloud-based software platform. You will be responsible for applying your accounting expertise to various areas of the organization. The Intermediate Accountant possess in-depth knowledge and experience in full cycle accounting, has excellent time management skills, and wants a challenging and interesting position in a growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly journal entries (includes banking, payroll, capital assets, projects, prepaid expenses and deferred revenue)
- Ensure AP, AR and invoicing is managed in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
- Support preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Assist Director, Finance with yearly audit
- Analyze and explain monthly variances from budget
- Contribute to process improvements and risk management
- Other tasks and projects as assigned to support the business
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in the CPA program or has recently received designation
- 3+ years of experience working in professional finance and/or accounting department
- University degree or college diploma in Accounting or Business Management/Administration
- Knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards
- High level of proficiency in Sage and MS Excel (including Vlookups and Pivot Tables)
- Self-motivated, accountable, task and deadline-driven, with a willingness to learn
