Horizon Recruitment has an immediate need for a Intermediate Accountant-AR with a large publicly traded, “blue chip” type company in downtown Vancouver. This is a maternity leave contract that will go until early 2025. The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for providing accounts receivable and management reporting support to one of our client's business units. The primary responsibilities of this position include a variety of accounts receivable, transportation analysis, data entry, reconciliations, projects, and problem-solving responsibilities. It assures smooth operation of receivable accounts, provides support to internal departments, accountants, and external inquiries.



  • Organize and electronically file various journal entries and other related documents for audit purposes
  • Record and track intercompany and third-party receivables
  • Review and post entries in system transportation transactions
  • Reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts
  • Contribute to financial reporting and variance analysis as necessary
  • Assisting with the consolidation of information into financial statements
  • Participate in the internal and external audit process
  • Review and post journal entries in ERP
  • Compile and provide summary of revenue and cost on monthly reports
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors as required to assist with audit
  • Provide ad-hoc reports as required
  • Reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts
  • Compile and provide schedules relating to transfer pricing projects
  • Contribute to financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Utilising internal systems for data Analytics to generate reports
  • Reconcile accounts, prepare schedules and develop special projects for various accountants, managers, operations, and others requesting for information


  • University Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance or experienced candidate with at least 4-5 years related accounting skills/experience in a similar capacity with an international organization
  • Experience in logistics or supply chain industries is desirable
  • Experience working with multiple currencies
  • Must have strong skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and web based programs
  • Experience with an ERP System an asset
  • Must be extremely organized
  • Detail oriented, accurate and timely
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Administrative skills, planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing
  • Ability to manage several competing priorities at once
  • Conceptual skills to analyze situations and problems to find viable, timely solutions
  • Self-directed, pro-active, highly motivated and willingness to learn
  • Must be a team player
