Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently working with a large, capital intensive business who is looking to add an extra set of hands to a team that evaluates capital expenditure requests. As a representative of Finance, the Finance Consultant - Capital Expenditure will work with a cross functional team to determine the feasibility and completeness of the applications. This is a great role for someone with an accounting background with a strength in financial analysis.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present financial reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management by using excellent knowledge of financial policies and procedures and advanced skills in computer applications such as SAP and MS Office.
  • Build meaningful relationships with internal clients by responding to finance related inquiries and collaborating across functional areas using excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively translate complex finance concepts in a concise and simple manner.
  • Share finance skills and expertise with others by providing guidance on accounting issues to ensure consistent adherence to financial policies and associated internal control frameworks.
  • Perform financial planning activities by facilitating the business planning process and leading the development of annual budgets and periodic forecast updates.
  • Provide recommendations on investment opportunities by analyzing business, financial, and operational implications using excellent technical knowledge of financial investment and risk models and techniques.

Requirements:

  • A recognized accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CA or CMA) or CFA is required
  • 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, budget preparation, variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning tools/systems an asset
  • Ability to problem solve and work effectively under pressure.
  • Superior writing and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on delivering a high-quality work product.

Remuneration:

  • $60-70/hour depending on experience.
