Our client is a large, very well-established and complex multi-national company headquartered in Vancouver.
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Human Resources will develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with our company's goals and values. You will work closely with senior management, department heads, and employees to ensure effective HR practices, compliance with labor laws, and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and industry best practices.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and create effective recruitment strategies.
- Lead the onboarding and orientation process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition and facilitating their integration into the company culture.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, including leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and performance management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and resource to employees and management, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems, working closely with managers to ensure fair and consistent evaluation processes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives and addressing any concerns or issues raised by employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Manage employee relations, including addressing and resolving employee grievances, conducting investigations when necessary, and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices, providing recommendations for continuous improvement, and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional HR certifications or CPHR is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience as a Senior Manager HR, HR Director, or in a similar HR leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment laws.
- Experience with full-cycle recruitment and selection processes.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits programs and administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficient in HR-related software applications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing work environment.
Compensation:
Competitive base salary 130,000–160,000K, plus performance bonus, and generous senior management benefits.
