Horizon Recruitment has been engaged by a leading niche law firm to recruit a skilled and dynamic Director, Finance. With over 15 years experience in their specialized niche our client enjoys a leadership position and exceptional reputation for quality service and results. Our client is growth-oriented firm and has partnered with Horizon to add a key strategic role to their team. The Director, Finance will lead the accounting and financial management for the partnership team on a day to day and strategic level. Our client has a tightknit team and that ensures prompt and effective solutions to their immediate challenges within the context of their longer-term strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall management of accounting team
- Coordinates and generates annual firm budget
- Mentors and coaches accounting team
- Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met
- Reporting (profit/loss statements, forecast, cash flow analysis)
- Partner stats (partner income projections)
- Provide complex financial analysis
- Review leases and contracts with appropriate managers
- Upholds a sense of customer service by offering innovative solutions or continually improving service delivery to meet client needs while remaining cost effective
- Work with lawyers regarding any special client rate analysis
- Must understand business processes and models including best practices, current and anticipated regulatory requirements, back office processes, and the end-to-end workflows across operational areas
- Build strong and trusting relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Manage multiple projects and facilitate change management
- Works with COO and manager team to move forward with the Firm’s strategic initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvements across the Firm but in particular with the accounting and finance functions
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Controller or Director of Finance role
- Professional accounting accreditation (CPA designation)
- Communication: Able to communicate concisely and clearly in both written and verbal communications. Excellent oral and written English language proficiency including the ability to compose and edit correspondence.
