Horizon Recruitment has been engaged to hire a skilled Buyer for a growing international manufacturing operation in the Fraser Valley. The Buyer is responsible for ensuring a reliable flow of materials at greatest value to meet dynamic production schedules. Our client operates an advanced manufacturing business that develops industrial equipment known for its quality and reliability for a variety of vehicle fueling and industrial applications. Our clients technology is playing a significant role in the green technology space and demand for their products is growing significantly around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Process Purchase Orders through Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Ensure materials/parts and services are available and executed on time with expected quality.
- Maintain systems to ensure the accurate accounting and usage of all materials.
- Analyze all MRP reports.
- Oversee warranty claims with vendors (Nonconformance Reports).
- Solve Purchase Order/Invoice discrepancies.
- Manually generate Purchase Orders for shop floor (purchase requisitions).
- Manually create construction and commissioning Purchase Orders.
- Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
- Follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace at all times.
- Maintain a safe working environment within the department and on each job.
- Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
- Perform work in accordance with documented policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
- Solid experience using Enterprise Resource Planning/Material Requirement Planning systems.
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid knowledge of purchasing practices.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Have an eye for detail and pride in one’s work.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must have excellent time management skills and ability to re-prioritize as needed.
