Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently looking for a AR Collections Specialist to join our wholesale manufacturing client. This individual will oversee all the collections and work closely with the rest of the accounting team.


Responsibilities:

  • Collect, reconcile and manage balances of customer accounts.
  • Process, resolve and approve orders on credit hold.
  • Perform customer credit application review and evaluate, establish credit to customers.
  • Liaise closely with Sales and Order Management departments to reconcile account disputes and deductions.
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations with the accounts at all times.
  • Process all forms of customer payments; including cash, credit card, cheques, and EFTs.
  • Post payments received from customers.
  • Maintain customer files and filing daily invoices, credit notes, etc.
  • Provide exception reports to the Controller.
  • Identify delinquent customer accounts and pursue external collection efforts, including initiating small claims court applications.
  • Will be able to do other general accounting duties.
  • Answer customer service and sales calls as necessary.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Preform all other duties as assigned by Controller and Management.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit, collection and general accounting duties required, ideally in a distribution/manufacturing environment.
  • Accounting certificate, diploma or degree.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word & the internet).
  • Working experience with SAP Business One is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills through demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage time.
  • Established collaboration skills and has the ability to communicate with openness and transparency.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with various departments.
  • Detail orientated and able to meet deadlines.
  • French speaking an asset but not required.
  • Compensation range: $65-75K depending on experience.
