Horizon Recruitment Inc. is working with a respected and high-performing financial services organization that is seeking a strategic and client-facing Vice President, Finance to join their leadership team. This is a key executive role responsible for guiding clients through complex financial matters while leading internal financial strategy, reporting, and governance across a broad portfolio of services.
This is an ideal opportunity for a CPA-designated finance professional with senior public practice experience(minimum 4 years at the Senior Manager level) who thrives on building relationships, offering advisory level insights, and working at the intersection of operations, compliance, and client service.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a financial advisor to clients, delivering strategic insights and solutions
- Oversee and review financial reporting, regulatory filings, and compliance requirements
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for both clients and internal initiatives
- Manage client engagements from a financial perspective, including complex corporate structures and transactions
- Partner with business development teams to support client onboarding and proposal development
- Lead internal financial operations, reporting directly to executive leadership
- Ensure strong internal controls, financial policies, and risk management practices
- Guide clients through changes in accounting standards, tax strategy, or governance updates
- Mentor and lead members of the finance team and contribute to ongoing talent development
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators as needed
Requirements:
- CPA designation required
- At least 4 years as a Senior Manager or above in a public practice firm (Big 4 or large regional firm preferred)
- Experience advising clients in the financial services sector is highly preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, financial modeling, and compliance
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships and deliver high-impact insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex financial matters clearly
- Proven leadership skills with a collaborative and client-focused mindset
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and decision-making capability
Remuneration:
- $180,000 - $210,000 base + 40% Bonus
