Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support a 12-month contract engagement with our client in the energy sector. This role plays a critical part in strengthening the organization's strategic supply chain capabilities, ensuring governance compliance, and delivering measurable cost efficiencies.
By driving category management initiatives, the successful candidate will help improve procurement decisions and enhance operational flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine contracting strategies in collaboration with internal departments
- Support category management efforts, including spend analysis and market research
- Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure all sourcing activities comply with internal policies and governance standards
- Deliver measurable cost savings across assigned categories
- Serve as the primary liaison between key suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Use SAP Ariba or similar tools to manage sourcing workflows and documentation
- Provide insights to improve supply chain responsiveness and resilience
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience in sourcing and category management
- Proven ability to manage complex procurement initiatives independently
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in SAP Ariba or comparable procurement systems
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred
- Advanced skills in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated leadership in coordinating cross-functional teams
Remuneration:
- $65-$70/hr target rate.
