Horizon Recruitment is actively seeking a Senior Procurement & Contracts Consultant for a leading EPC client based in Calgary.

This 12-month consulting engagement will support the delivery of major capital initiatives across Canada.

The successful candidate will oversee procurement strategy and contract administration for high-profile construction projects, working as a key advisor within a cross-functional commercial and project team.

This role is well-suited to an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in complex capital projects, with experience on client facing aspects of a project as well as vendor management and project delivery.

The organization is entering a period of significant expansion, with a robust portfolio of long-term investments—this assignment has strong potential for renewal and extension.

Responsibilities:

• Draft and develop contractual frameworks for construction services, engineering support, and material supply agreements
• Act as the primary point of contact for client / commercial management, vendor relationship management, and contract change management throughout the contract lifecycle
• Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with timelines, budget expectations, and quality standards
• Lead the sourcing process, including RFx development, bid evaluation, and negotiation of commercial terms
• Support the integration of procurement activity with project scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder objectives

Requirements:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing procurement and contract strategy for large capital projects
• Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of overseeing procurement teams or supporting procurement workstreams
• Demonstrated experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and end-to-end sourcing processes
• Prior exposure to engineering, construction, or infrastructure environments is highly desirable
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and diverse stakeholder groups
• Post-secondary education in Procurement, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline

 Rewards:

• $80-90/hr
