Senior IT Auditor

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior IT Auditor to join a high-performing Internal Audit team at a global investment firm. This role exists to strengthen the firm’s oversight of technology-related risks by leading the planning and execution of multi-year IT audit programs. With increasing reliance on cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, and evolving regulatory frameworks, this individual will play a strategic role in identifying emerging risks, influencing internal controls, and supporting organizational resilience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a multi-year audit plan addressing internal IT risks and external regulatory shifts.
  • Conduct in-depth audits of IT systems, cloud environments (AWS, Azure), and SaaS platforms.
  • Review and assess cybersecurity controls and information security operations.
  • Evaluate IT governance, change management, and data protection protocols.
  • Provide clear, senior-level reporting on risk findings and recommended actions.
  • Collaborate with IT, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure strong internal controls.
  • Offer forward-looking insights and recommendations to enhance audit practices and operational resilience.
  • Act as the senior member of a five-person audit team, overseeing delivery without direct reports.
  • Mentor and guide less-experienced IT audit staff.
  • Drive innovation in audit methodologies, including data analytics and automation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of IT audit or assurance experience, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of IT general controls (ITGCs), cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience auditing SaaS environments and cloud configurations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute long-term audit plans.
  • CISA preferred; CISSP, CRISC, or other relevant certifications also considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting technology in a financial context.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with senior stakeholders.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience at reputable firms or large enterprises.

Remuneration:

  • $100,000 to $130,000 per year base salary, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.
