Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Project Expeditor to support a major capital project with a leading engineering and construction organization. This role is critical to ensuring materials, equipment, and supporting documentation move efficiently through the supply chain and arrive on schedule to support project execution.
Working as part of a high-performing project team, the successful candidate will proactively manage supplier commitments, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and help mitigate delivery risks that could impact project timelines. This position is ideal for a supply chain professional who thrives in complex project environments and enjoys building strong relationships across vendors, operations, logistics, and project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the expediting process for project materials, equipment, and supplier deliverables
- Act as the primary point of contact between vendors, buyers, project teams, logistics providers, and site personnel
- Monitor supplier commitments and proactively identify risks to delivery schedules
- Track materials from purchase order through shipment and receipt at site locations
- Coordinate with freight providers and customs brokers to facilitate efficient transportation and import processes
- Support resolution of customs, shipping, and delivery issues affecting project schedules
- Expedite technical, commercial, and logistics documentation from suppliers and engineering partners
- Maintain accurate status updates and communicate progress to project stakeholders
- Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure timely issue resolution
- Coordinate with site teams to address material shortages, delivery discrepancies, and schedule changes
- Develop recovery plans with suppliers when delivery milestones are at risk
- Contribute to project reporting and supply chain performance tracking activities
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 5-8 years of experience within an EPC environment or a project-based, capital-intensive industry
- Minimum 3 years of dedicated expediting experience supporting major projects
- Experience coordinating suppliers, logistics providers, project teams, and site stakeholders
- Strong understanding of procurement, materials management, and project supply chain processes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, deadline-driven project environment
- Spanish language skills an asset
