Project Coordinator

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Project Coordinator- Infrastructure to support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. This role will coordinate multiple stakeholders and project activities while helping ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards. The successful candidate will bring strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex contracts and project documentation. This is an opportunity to contribute to important capital projects where strong governance, communication, tracking, and follow-through are essential.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate low to medium risk infrastructure and construction projects, typically valued up to $20 million.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, action logs, communication plans, status reports, and close-out documentation.
  • Monitor project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and expected benefits throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and interpret contracts, agreements, and other complex project documentation.
  • Develop risk management plans and track actions to support successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, procurement, construction, environmental, regulatory, safety, and project controls teams.
  • Support stakeholder and First Nations engagement activities where required.
  • Work closely with customers, engineers, field crews, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.
  • Track commitments, issues, decisions, and follow-up items to support strong project governance.
  • Support quality assurance, construction management, pre-commissioning, and other project delivery activities.
  • Identify project risks and issues early and work with stakeholders to develop practical solutions.
  • Prepare clear project updates and communicate progress, priorities, and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Apply established project management practices to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of project management, project coordination, or comparable project delivery experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and working with contract language and complex documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, priorities, and project activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Professional-level written and spoken English.
  • PMP designation is preferred.
  • Engineering degree is considered an asset.
  • Experience with utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or large capital projects is an asset.
  • Experience supporting environmental agreements, mitigation programs, or related project work is an asset.
  • Experience supporting high-consequence projects with significant governance, tracking, and follow-up requirements is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and attend Lower Mainland offices as required. Onsite presence is expected approximately 2 days per week. Candidates outside the Lower Mainland may be considered if they can travel to the required office locations when needed.

Remuneration

  • $65/hr contract rate.
