Payroll Specialist

JUST HR is recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join a growing project-based services company with operations supporting workforces in Canada and internationally. With approximately 400 employees across hourly, salaried, and site-based teams, payroll complexity has increased as the business continues to expand. This role is being added to support the Payroll Manager and Director of HR by providing additional capacity, strengthening payroll coverage, and helping ensure payroll is delivered accurately and on schedule. The successful candidate will join a small, collaborative HR team in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities move quickly and teamwork is critical.


Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll for a mixed workforce including hourly and salaried employees
  • Support payroll administration for employees working at project sites and remote locations
  • Maintain accurate employee records in ADP and related systems
  • Review payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting, and audit support
  • Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Partner closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure payroll deadlines are consistently met
  • Help improve payroll workflows, documentation, and internal controls
  • Support system updates and upcoming ERP implementation
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure employee changes are processed correctly
  • Contribute to process improvements as the organization continues to grow
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information

Requirements

  • 1- 2 years of recent payroll or related administrative experience
  • Experience using ADP is required
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing, growing business
  • Able to stay organized and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Able to work full-time in office in Vancouver
  • Experience with hourly and salaried payroll is an asset
  • Exposure to NetSuite or other ERP systems is an asset
  • PCP designation or working toward PCP is an asset

Remuneration

$75,000 - $80,000 base salary plus 10% bonus and benefits.
