Horizon Recruitmen t is recruiting for an Intermediate Client Accountant to support a growing real estate investment team focused on fund-level financial reporting. As institutional clients demand more timely and accurate insights, this role ensures continuity, clarity, and confidence in the financial data that investors rely on. You’ll step into a high-visibility position that plays a key part in delivering reporting packages and metrics that drive client relationships and investment decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle for assigned real estate investment funds
- Consolidate data from multiple property managers to prepare investor-facing financial statements
- Deliver accurate reports on fund income, expenses, leasing stats, and market values
- Calculate and analyze key metrics including IRR, TWRR, NAV, and capital variances
- Collaborate with property accountants to validate data and meet reporting deadlines
- Support annual audits and budgeting processes, ensuring consistency with IFRS
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax (HST/QST) returns and process client distributions
- Build and improve Excel-based templates to streamline recurring deliverables
- Contribute to ongoing system improvements and team process refinements
Requirements:
- 3–4 years of experience in fund accounting, real estate finance, or related field
- CPA designation in progress or recently completed
- Comfortable preparing and reviewing full-cycle financial reports
- Familiarity with IFRS standards and investor reporting
- Exposure to return metrics (IRR, TWRR); strong Excel skills required
- Experience with Yardi or similar systems is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle deadlines across clients
- Clear communicator with a client-focused mindset
- Proven ability to work independently and adapt to evolving team structures
Remuneration:
- Target salary $80,000
- Hybrid work model (2 days in-office)
