Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged on a search for a Head of Project Finance for a local firm that is in early stages of several large scale capital projects. The Head of Project Finance will be responsible for all projects related financial management which includes financial accounting and governance, but also budgets, cashflows, and cost control.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for reviewing and confirming that all capital accounting entries are accurately, fully, and promptly recorded.
- Responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for shareholders, management, regulatory authorities, lenders, government entities, and other stakeholders.
- Also assists in coordinating the audit process with external auditors. Oversees the creation and implementation of Capital Asset Accounting Policies and controls
- Manages the accounting function for major capital projects or expansions. Delivers prompt project financial reports and collaborates with project management and shareholder project sponsors.
- Collaborate with project managers and project controllers to coordinate yearly Capital Budget, managing cost controls, monitoring budget performance, and creating forecasts.
- Streamline and optimize financial processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
Requirements:
- CPA designation with 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
- Background in capital projects or engineering considered an asset.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
Rewards:
$180,000 - $200,000 Base Salary + Bonus
