Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Corporate Accountant to join a well-established investment organization based in Vancouver. This role is designed to support the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. Working closely with an experienced finance team, the successful candidate will contribute to the accuracy of financial reporting, support operational decision-making, and help maintain strong financial controls. Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Participate in month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Perform full-cycle accounting for multiple entities
- Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and general ledger accounts
- Process accounts payable invoices and employee expense reports while ensuring compliance with internal policies
- Assist with cash management activities and payment processing
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
- Prepare schedules and supporting materials for external audits and tax compliance requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
- Support special projects and finance initiatives as required
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
- Actively pursuing a CPA designation
- 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in both public practice and industry is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and account reconciliations
- Exposure to full-cycle accounting and accounts payable functions
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
Remuneration
- $75,000 - $85,000
