Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for one of our growing manufacturing clients.

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for support of the purchasing and warehouse team and will help to develop, implement, and monitor processes to optimize the supply chain and material processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage supply chain metrics in support of the manufacturing and operations departments
  • Lead a small team of purchasing/logistics and warehouse staff
  • Manage raw material inventory levels according to production schedules
  • Manage finished product inventory levels and outbound logistics to clients
  • Prepare daily raw material requirements according to production schedule
  • Manage vendor KPI’s and negotiate beneficial service agreements with materials and service providers
  • Hire, coach and mentor team members
  • Build positive relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Add value through your ability to understand and refine business processes
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Ensure all purchasing activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of the overall organization
  • Work on project and/or assignments as required, using approved guidelines


Qualifications:

  • CPIM/CSCP designation preferred
  • Post-Secondary Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a supply chain role
  • Ability to independently assess, define and solve complex supply chain and procurement issues
  • Cross-functional team experience
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong ERP / MRP System experience
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise excellent judgement
  • Self-motivated, enjoys challenges and working in a fast-paced environment
