Horizon Recruitment Inc actively recruiting for a Supervisor, Receiving to join our client in the retail sector that supports consumer and industrial customers. Our client boasts an impressive history and record of growth. The shift for this role is days M - F from 8AM noon to 4:30PM. Our client operates a brand new state of the art DC in Coquitlam that has recently undergone a consolidation of multiple warehouses into one master DC. The Receiving team plays a vital role in the warehouse ensuring that inventory is processed, managed and moved in the most efficient way so the flow of goods continually enables demand to be met.


Our client is implementing a transformation initiative that enables exceptional learning and opportunity to gain experience and exposure with process improvements. As the Supervisor, Receiving you will lead, train and mentor a team of 20 - 30 team members. You will, create, implement and manage KPI’s, while keeping other DC staff up to date on the status of orders.


Responsibilities:

  • Help lead and delegate tasks for the distribution centre’s receiving team
  • Provide training, feedback, and coaching to new and existing employees as needed
  • Monitor all incoming shipments 
  • Ensure accuracy of PO matching 
  • Diagnose and help fix Warehouse Management System receiving problems as they arise
  • Work towards reconciling system discrepancies and suggesting improvements
  • Promote a safe working environment through compliance and understanding of Health and Safety rules and regulations, along with company policies and procedures
  • Commit to further advancing one’s warehouse knowledge (ex. equipment, procedures

Requirements:

  • Great understanding of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Supervisory experience/strong leadership skills are considered an asset
  • Capable of meeting department goals while measuring and meeting key performance indicators
  • Experience working in a warehouse setting
  • Valid Class 7 or 5 License required, with clean driver’s abstract preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Strong multitasking and delegating skills 
  • Must have strong communication and problem-solving skills when working individually, and with the team
  • Ability to lift items up to 50lbs and knowledge of workplace safety procedures and the ability to adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety program
  • Steel-toe shoes are required
