You will be responsible for identifying areas of weakness and implementing solutions to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment, review, and advisory for operational and financial risk across multiple locations and entities within the group
- Develop audit and implementation plans based on results and prepare reports for review by senior management
- Drive continuous improvement in the audit function (IFRS, SOX)
- Visit site operations to conduct reviews and audits and perform gap analysis where there are inadequate controls
- Develop enhanced policies and procedures for the organization
- Educate and support operational staff through internal controls implementations
Requirements:
- Recognized accounting designation (CPA)
- Working towards or successful completion of an advanced professional audit certification (CIA, CFE, CISA)
- 5+ years of audit experience ideally with a combination of public practice and industry experience
- Experience with corporate governance regulations and IFRS
- Proven ability to develop and manage audit plans across multiple locations
- Experience in business process documentation, analysis, and implementation
- Experience with IT and systems audits and fraud investigations would be great to have but not required
- Comfort dealing with senior executives and possession of excellent communication skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments and requirements
- Travel in across North America could be approximately 10 - 20%
