Horizon Recruitment has partnered with an industry leading company to recruit a Sr. Financial Analyst that will support the senior management team in their evaluation of strategic expansion initiatives. Our client has experienced spectacular growth over the past 5+ decades and requires a new team member for the next phase of their story. Our clients purpose is to serve as a residential development organization both in the USA and Canada. Between its existing land holdings and newly acquired development opportunities, our client is currently developing more than 5,000 homes in various markets and communities located on both sides of the border. The Sr Financial Analyst will be based in Vancouver, BC and will be responsible for assisting in underwriting, analyzing, and monitoring of our clients projects. The role will report to the principals and will work closely with the Finance Team. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for potential and ongoing development projects to aid decision making
  • Develop and maintain multi-year cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare all materials and presentations for capital raises, inclusive of financing and investment requests
  • Perform complex financial analyses such as scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis
  • Analyzing investment returns, yield metrics, scenario analyses, and profitability of investments
  • Prepare key reporting materials for internal and external stakeholders, including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages for the partners
  • Assist with updating and maintaining development budgets including variance analyses
  • Liaise with various departments to coordinate inputs for development project underwriting, presentations, and reporting
  • Assist in due diligence with potential acquisitions
  • Perform market research to support investment strategies and decisions
  • Identify and implement process and system improvements that increase efficiency
  • Perform various special projects and ad-hoc tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm and genuine passion for real estate
  • Commitment to producing accurate and thorough work product
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Real Estate, or Accounting
  • Real estate industry experience preferred
  • Designated CPA or CFA
  • 4-6 years of experience in financial modelling, analytics, and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills combined with a strategic thinking capability
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite) with a strong working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and desire to add value, with an ability to thrive in a culture of excellence
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing, comprehending, analyzing, interpreting and communicating complex information
