Horizon Recruitment has an immediate need for a Sr. Buyer for a manufacturing client in Abbotsford. Our client is a growing business in the food production business and requires an individual with a well versed background in procurement best practices that can advise and provide support to a variety of purchasing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Procure direct and indirect supplies for manufacturing operations
- Assist in communicating procurement processes and practices
- Lead sourcing and procurement initiatives for one off purchasing decisions
- Act as an internal advisor to represent procurement with management
Requirements:
- 5+ years strategic procurement experience
- Experience managing procurement for a wide variety of equipment, materials and services
- University level degree, ideally combined with a supply chain specific designation
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Customer service focused approach to contract management
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
