Horizon Recruitment is currently seeking a Senior Buyer for one of our Lower Mainland clients. The senior buyer will manage vendor relationships and purchasing requirements, focusing specifically on contract manufacturing partnerships and electro-mechanical parts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage key vendor relationships and high volume materials ordering
- Manage vendor KPI's, delivery terms and quality
- Create purchasing reports and ensure MRP / ERP information is accurate and up to date.
- Negotiate price, delivery and terms with support of Commodity Managers
- Regularly communicate material issues that may impact projects
- Liaise with production and logistics team to ensure components are available when required
Requirements:
- Highly organized individual with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Team player who is able to work with minimal supervision
- Minimum of 4 years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience within and R&D environment or NPI experience will be highly valued.
- Strong Excel and ERP/MRP experience
