Just HR is recruiting an accomplished Senior Advisor, HSE who will report to the Director, Risk & HSE for a leading producer of rebar, raw material, and other metal products. Our client primarily serves the mining, construction, and industrial markets. Our client is located in northeast Edmonton, Alberta, near the heart of the city’s industrial sector. The facility is easily accessible and provides a good location for professionals working in the manufacturing and industrial sector. We are recruiting for a self-motivated, experienced, individual to become an essential part of a HSE group of 4 professionals. The successful candidate will be providing support to the leadership and front line supervision fostering a proactive approach in support of HSE initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Actively coach and influence leaders and teams to build essential safety skills and leadership qualities.
  • Perform risk assessments and take part in investigating incidents to ensure comprehensive follow-up and improvement.
  • Lead the creation and rollout of risk management tools to enhance workplace safety.
  • Support the development and execution of environmental initiatives, focusing on proactive measures and continuous improvement.
  • Provide safety-related training to teams and individuals to ensure understanding and compliance with safety standards.
  • Promote adherence to safe work practices and established procedures across the organization.

Requirements:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment role.
  • Strong understanding of Alberta’s OH&S regulations and requirements.
  • Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety; CRSP designation (or other HSE accreditation) is considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, with a collaborative approach and strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A dedicated team player with exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated, with a passion for achieving positive outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Remuneration: 

  • Base salary $100K plus 
  • Bonus: 10%
  • Full benefits program
