Horizon Recruitment has an opportunity for an Experienced Senior Accountant to join a Vancouver Based company that has been growing rapidly in recent years. We are working with the finance leadership team to recruit a Senior Accountant who will work on various accounting matters including supporting the end-to-end accounting and statutory reporting for various business units. This role will also have a project-based component that will allow for a diverse group of activates and exposure.
This is a fully remote position that may be fulfilled from anywhere in Western Canada however work hours must align with Vancouver PST time zones.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the end-to-end accounting for various subsidiaries, including:
- Monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting quarterly reviews and annual audit
- Statutory reporting
- Liaising with local Accounting Firms
- Work with other members of the finance team and other departments to resolve issues and ensure accurate data is provided to accounting
- Assist stakeholders in other departments with accounting queries
- Participate in ad hoc duties and various special projects requiring financial accounting, financial analysis, and process design skills.
Requirements:
- Professional CPA designation or equivalent experience
- Proficient in accounting standards, U.S. GAAP preferred
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments and effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including use of Pivot tables
- Experience with JD Edwards would be an asset
- Understand internal controls, SOX and experience working with external auditors
- Chinese reading fluency a plus
