Purchasing Supervisor - Kelowna

Horizon Recruitment is currently seeking a Purchasing Supervisor for one of our clients based in Kelowna, BC.

 Job Description:

As the Purchasing Supervisor you will manage a small buying and procurement team and will be hands on leading all strategic activities from vendor selection and certification through to logistics and order closure. This role requires strong negotiation and leadership skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with a diverse portfolio of vendors and internal stakeholders. Previous experience working within a unionized environment will be an asset.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in strategic supply chain operations with experience managing a wide variety of commodities and services.
• Post secondary education, ideally combined with supply chain specific designation. 
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor the purchasing team
• Generate, maintain and verify daily Purchasing metrics
• Identify, evaluate and manage vendor contracts with material, equipment and service vendors
• Strong oral and written communication skills
