Horizon Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Lead for one of our Lower Mainland Manufacturing clients.
Job Description:
As the Purchasing Lead you will lead a small team managing activities from vendor selection and certification through to contract negotiation and vendor management.
This role requires strong negotiation and leadership skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with sales and manufacturing teams. Previous experience working with both contract manufacturing and local manufacturing facilities is essential for this position.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in strategic supply chain operations within a manufacturing setting
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor the supply chain team
- Generate, maintain and verify daily Purchasing metrics
- Identify, evaluate and manage contracts with raw material vendors and manufacturing partners
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working in a Manufacturing environment would be an asset
