Horizon Recruitment is conducting the search for a Project Controls Specialist with Primavera P6 experience to join our client's project team in Vancouver. Our client is a world leader in their field and is seeking a dynamic individual to join their growing team for a 6 month contract. This individual will be required to configure and manage major projects within P6 and will support project user interfaces and project delivery teams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement project scheduling resources, processes and systems on a portfolio of major projects. This includes working with other team members within operations and external vendor firms to develop, support and maintain the operations schedule within the overall Master schedule
  • Assist the Project Director in transferring learning from project implementation to the improvement of company procedures
  • Develop and maintain Primavera schedule, user profiles and security levels
  • Ensure that project schedule decisions can be made based upon accurate and timely schedule and progress performance information
  • Responsible to the Project Director for the application of the company policies and procedures for the area of project cost controls on assigned major projects
  • Other duties necessary for implementation of the job role within the project portfolio


Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project controls, planning, and/or scheduling is required
  • Skills in schedule planning, activity duration estimating, resource loading, critical path method (CPM) schedule preparation, schedule analysis, monitoring schedule quality, schedule system application, and construction scheduling 
  • Experience and knowledge in Primavera P6
  • Good understanding of the areas of estimating, cost control and overall project and construction management
  • Skill and knowledge of overall project implementation management processes
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Developed critical and conceptual thinking skills
  • A graduate degree in an Engineering, Construction Management or Business Management is desirable
