Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting the search for an experienced Materials Specialist to join our growing electronics manufacturing client. This position requires an experienced manager to lead the Planning, Distribution, Purchasing / Inventory and vendor management processes for their growing operations. The successful candidate will be required to drive major process and systems improvements and will support substantial growth targets through the effective management of vendor quality, lead times and reduced material costs.

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain group
  • Lead strategic sourcing and vendor reviews
  • Manage material demand, warehousing and manufacturing requirements
  • Manage inventory levels and demand forecasts to ensure reliable supply of raw materials
  • Manage buyers and offer support throughout projects
  • Establish and manage strategic relationships with suppliers
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure manufacturing demands are met
  • Speak with clients and understand customer workflows

Requirements:

  • Education in Operations or Supply Chain Management preferred (PMAC, CCLP, Plog)
  • Experience working within a high volume manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years progressive experience in supply chain in complex, high paced environment
  • 2+ years in a management/leadership role
  • Strong user level experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to create complex spreadsheets to assist the supply chain functions
  • Strong processes improvement and experience with lean / six sigma methodologies
