Horizon Recruitment is conducting a search for a Manager, Financial Reporting & Tax with a company with a longstanding history in the technology sector. Reporting to the Controller, working closely with the CFO and entire finance team, the Manager, Financial Reporting & Tax will provide leadership of financial reporting within a publicly traded environment. The Manager will oversee a team of Senior, Intermediate and Junior accountants, all working to support the effective reporting of a growing company. The Manager will also provide leadership for tax planning, provisions, and unique one-time taxation issues across a multi-jurisdictional corporate environment. This important role on the team is a key part of supporting a high growth organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and filing of financial reports, including quarterly and annual financial statements, for the company and its subsidiaries
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations in multiple jurisdictions, including the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and other tax-related filings
- Work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits and tax filings
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on technical accounting issues and assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures
- Research and analyze complex accounting and tax issues, and recommend appropriate accounting treatments and tax strategies
- Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations, and ensure compliance with new and existing requirements
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of documentation related to financial reporting and tax compliance
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities and regulatory bodies
Requirements:
- CPA designation is required
- 5+ years of experience in financial reporting and tax, preferably in a publicly traded company with international operations
- Strong technical accounting skills, with experience in researching and resolving complex accounting issues
- International tax experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
