Horizon Recruitment is currently seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting for opportunities in Calgary and across Alberta. With future positions at the intermediate and senior levels, we welcome all candidates who may be interested in learning more about the various opportunities to apply.

Typically reporting to the Director, Finance, you will be responsible for the overall financial reporting and management of the individual operating division’s accounting and finance functions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements and notes in accordance with IFRS
  • Contribute to the quarterly corporate consolidation process
  • Provision of financial analyses, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Analyze accounting/tax issues and prepare supplemental analysis where required;
  • Review tax returns prepared by the company’s tax advisors
  • Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Lead and oversee third-party vendors to ensure service delivery level is maintained

Requirements:

  • A professional designation and qualifications (CPA) along with 3-5 years of public practice experience
  • Hands-on, roll up the sleeves professional with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Capability, drive, and initiative to learn, adapt and execute
  • Solid knowledge of current accounting principles and rules under IFRS
  • An open and articulate communicator with strong analysis, presentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Proven strategic thinking ability to apply a results-oriented approach
  • Excellent analytical skills, and applies a creative approach to problem-solving
