Horizon Recruitment Inc. has an immediate requirement for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our client's manufacturing operations in Langley. This role requires a Red Seal (Millwright or Electrician) to manage ongoing maintenance planning and emergency repair requirements and will lead a small team of maintenance staff.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the administration and implementation of the safety program by ensuring that all of the safety programs are functioning properly.
- Develop a staffing plan for the department to ensure adequate hourly and maintenance personnel levels that meet the current and future needs of the department
- Maintain equipment history and improvement files
- Plastic pipe repairs including use of repair couplings
- Trouble shooting electrical, mechanical and pneumatic devices
- Dealing with parts distributors – negotiating materials purchasing
- Forklift repairs and maintenance
- Setting budgets for the maintenance department
- Managing inventory and inventory control of maintenance spare parts
- Mentor and train millwright apprentice
Requirements:
- Positive attitude, work ethic and a team player
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment would be an asset
- Knowledge of maintenance planning computer programs similar to Proteus MMX Asset Management / Work Order System
- Familiar with implementing preventive maintenance programs
- Strong mechanical background –cutting – fastening
