Horizon Recruitment Inc. has an immediate requirement for a BuyerExpeditor to begin immediately with our client in the oil and gas sector. Our client requires a motivated candidate to join the team and manage a large volume of small - mid sized projects.

Job Description:

  • Perform vendor sourcing through RFP/RFQ and direct award events.
  • Contact vendors in an efficient manner to ensure compliance to contract commitments
  • Maintain a material status report including information such as vendor and description of material ordered, purchase order date, vendor promised dates, dates required in the field, shipping status and material receipt note number and date
  • Contact the vendor on pre-determined dates and evaluate the validity of the vendor’s original schedule concerning shipping dates, procedures and delivery destinations
  • Expedite supplier for order ready dates and update PO expediting logs 
    Answer materials status sent from operations/project teams
  • Keep project team apprised of PO status if any changes to scheduled order ready date
  • Expedite supplier for documentation including: Order Acknowledgments, Invoices, Technical documentation, Logistics documentation (i.e. Packing lists, commercial invoices, etc.), Progress reports, Bank Guarantees
  • Populate and keep expediting logs up to date
  • Track and trace shipments
  • Liaise with Project Buyers, Project Managers, Accounting/Finance personnel
  • Ensure completeness/delivery (but not correctness) of documentation against internal requirements/checklists
  • Expedite review of documentation with internal departments/colleagues as required
  • Work out resolution and recovery plans with suppliers in case of delivery slippages
  • Coordinate with buyers to ensure that when deliveries are not met, cancellations and reorders from another vendor are made

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education
  • 3-5 years of expediting work experience within an engineering and/or project based work environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent English skills, written and verbal
  • Organized, meticulous, punctual and reliable even in stressful and deadline-driven situations
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team but also as situations demand, able to work independently
  • Analytical, problem solving abilities and creative thinking
