Horizon Recruitment Inc is conducting a search for an experienced Group Controller to lead the North American Accounting and Finance function for a large global organization. As part of the Executive Management team, you will work closely with the Managing Director and the General Manager to formulate and implement financial and business strategy. You will have 3 Controllers reporting in to you and will oversee the group’s accounting and finance functions.


  • Provide oversight and review for all financial reporting and controls including consolidations and multi-divisional reporting 
  • Ensure availability of financial reporting and financial plans and budgets for global reporting requirements
  • Manage and implement process improvement initiatives and cost reduction strategies
  • Oversee corporate risk management strategies and develop processes and procedures for compliance across all functions
  • Document processes and provide strategic analysis to implement process improvement across the business
  • Help the business through growth by integrating teams and processes and supporting the business with updated financial information to improve profitability and efficiencies
  • Manage working capital requirements and targets by establishing and maintaining clear internal key performance metrics
  • Manage the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Lead and mentor an accounting team (approx 10 people)


  • A professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) with 10 years of experience
  • High level and strategic professional with a demonstrated track record of success in a similar role with a preference for manufacturing experience
  • Capability, drive and initiative to learn, adapt and execute
  • An open and articulate communicator with strong analysis, presentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Proven strategic thinking ability to apply a “bottom line”, results-oriented approach
