Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting a search for a stand out Finance Manager to oversee a fantastic finance team for one of our clients based in the lower mainland.

Job Description:

  • Report directly to the Director, Finance and manage a 5-person finance team
  • Coordinate performance management of finance team members 
  • Responsible for effective and efficient operations of finance function, including the timely month-end close in order to meet monthly internal reporting deadlines. 
  • Coordinate and assist with regular management reporting to stakeholders as required, including budget to actual variance analysis
  • Assist with determination of key metrics for business unit accountability and provide regular reporting for performance management
  • Coordinate corporate and external budgeting process
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly forecasts
  • Coordinate year-end process, year-end financial statements preparation and year-end audit
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals and oversee all banking
  • Ongoing assessment of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Build excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with other business units to increase financial literacy across the organization
  • Various ad hoc projects as identified

Required qualifications, skills and knowledge:

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Professional experience in a supervisory role
  • CPA designation (CGA, CMA or CA)
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office). Advanced Excel skills would be preferable
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP would be an asset
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards including both ASNPO and ASPE
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organization skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Overtly personable demeanor
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving
