Horizon Recruitment is working with a high tech electronic manufacturing organization to identify their next Director of Supply Chain who will be located in their Vancouver HQ. This position is responsible for the Supply Chain organization and continued leadership and transformation of the supply chain. The successful candidate will be a seasoned supply chain executive with strong procurement, manufacturing, and logistics experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with vendors, external service providers, and internal teams to identify and implement opportunities for supply chain efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and materials management
  • Leverage supply chain modelling to provide exceptional external and internal customer service levels
  • Responsible for managing inventory accuracy and turns, and controlling operating costs
  • Be on point for integration of new systems, acquisitions, and significant new product introduction
  • Promote professional growth among team members through challenging and rewarding goals
  • Help plan facility requirements, optimizing warehouse layout, ensuring necessary capacity is in place to satisfy both short and long-term demands and preserving product integrity
  • Identify and exploit opportunities for improvement using analytics and performance metrics

Requirements:

  • Strategic supply chain leader with 10+ years of varied and relevant experience across supply chain functions
  • 7+ years’ experience at a senior management or director level in a manufacturing environment (electronics preferred)
  • A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business or Engineering); MBA a plus
  • Strong team building, collaboration and management skills
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP implementation and optimization (SAP preferred)
  • Success using analytics and technology to promote data driven decision making
  • Superior negotiation skills for use inside and outside the company
  • Experience implementing kanban, consignment processes, or similar lean strategies throughout the supply chain
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Innovative thinking and a drive to be proactive
  • Demonstrated ability creating a shared vision and building consensus
  • Occasional international travel
