Horizon Recruitment Inc is conducting a search for a Corporate Controller to lead the financial reporting team for a multi-billion dollar public company. This person will have the overall responsibility for the preparation, presentation, and analysis of the consolidated financial results. Working closely with the Executive team, this person will also play an integral role in the compilation of other publicly released documents such as the MD&A, Annual Information Form, and Management Information Circular.

Job Description:

  • Timely preparation, presentation, management, and analysis over the consolidation of financial results on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Act as the key corporate resource for accounting treatment of complex transactions, remaining current on regulatory and accounting pronouncements, and assessing/presenting the impact of such pronouncements
  • Oversee the annual external audit process, coordinating all divisions' year-end working papers, and liaising with the auditors as needed
  • Act as a resource to the acquisition team and tax compliance program
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies in financial processes or other areas for cost reduction

Requirements:

  • A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) with track record of success in a similar role
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and in a SOX compliant environment
  • Experience working closely with a diverse group with the ability to influence
  • Experience integrating newly acquired companies
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and enjoys being a mentor to the team
  • Ability to analyze complex business situations and drive practical and innovative solutions
  • Hands on attitude with the willingness to get the job done
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing work environment
