Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting a search for an experienced Controller, Operations and Manufacturing to lead the accounting and finance functions for an exciting and growing company here in Vancouver. Working with the leadership team at the corporate head office and directly with the operational manufacturing and logistics teams in the facilities, you will drive process improvements and be responsible for the overall financial reporting and management of the growing business.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the manufacturing function
  • Responsible for all accounting, financial reporting and operational data analysis activities
  • Present financial period end results to senior management, highlighting areas of concerns and action plans
  • Provision of financial analyses and operational support as it pertains to inventory, production/costing variances and sales analyses
  • Ensure costing models are current and accurate, and are continuously improved
  • Manage working capital requirements and targets by establishing and maintaining clear internal key performance metrics
  • Manage the preparation of the annual budget and periodical/rolling forecasts
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of analysts 

Requirements:

  • A professional accounting designation and qualifications (CA, CPA, CMA or CGA) along with at least 10 years of managerial experience
  • Hands on, roll up the sleeves professional with a demonstrated track record of success in a similar role 
  • Strong financial reporting experience coupled with experience in manufacturing, operations and logistics
  • Capability, drive and initiative to learn, adapt and execute
  • An open and articulate communicator with strong analysis, presentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Proven strategic thinking ability to apply a “bottom line”, results-oriented approach
  • Excellent analytical skills, and applies a creative approach to problem solving
