Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting a search for a professional with proven experience as a Contracts Specialist, contract administration and claims management. The Contracts Specialist will work on a consulting basis focusing on major complex GCC contracts for our high-profile Alberta clients large scale oil and gas project.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare draft contract terms and conditions for the acquisition and delivery of construction services
- Manage supplier / contract negotiations to ensure terms and conditions conform with client requirements
- Manage changes and escalations for any issues that surface during the life of contracts
- Evaluate RFx bids and conduct negotiations to put contract agreements in place
- Manage GCC claims and change orders during lifespan of the contracts
- Manage and review contractual obligations of parties involved ensuring all terms and conditions are met
- Act as a primary contact between each business unit and legal team, ensuring all legal contractual matters are dealt with efficiently
Requirements:
- Degree in Business Administration or Engineering with a Supply Chain Management focus (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience in pipeline construction
- Experience managing contracts for complex construction services
- Experience dealing with high value contracts (over 500 million)
- 8-10 years progressive experience in contract management related roles
- Experience evaluating competitive bid documents (RFP, RFQ etc)
- Previous experience working in an EPC/M environment is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communications and negotiations capability
- High level of diplomacy, tact and the ability to push issues along in a complex environment
- Ability to travel on short (one to two day) site visits from time to time
