Horizon Recruitment Inc. is recruiting for an interim Buyer role to join a busy project team based in Vancouver. The Buyer will support the Manager, Procurement & Contracts in the purchasing of a variety of materials required for a multi year construction project. Responsibilities:
- Placing orders for goods and services
- Identifying sources of supply for goods & services
- Assisting senior procurement team members in preparing tenders and requests for proposal packages
- Meeting with vendors to discuss requirements and sourcing product information and specifications
- Following up and expediting purchase orders
- Resolving order discrepancies and where required, arranging for return of goods
- Negotiating pricing/shipping and other relevant terms of order
- Managing and updating vendor data in various systems
- Coordinating execution of legal documents
Requirements:
- Three years of relevant purchasing experience in a high paced environment
- Fundamental purchasing knowledge, including contract information, negotiation
- Enrollment in, or completion of, a diploma and/or certificate program in supply chain management is an asset
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to organize, schedule tasks and handle deadlines
- Strong multitasking skills
