Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller of a rapidly growing HVAC, construction and services company in Burnaby. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in a variety of accounting projects and initiatives as the company evolves and grows. Projects include developing process and policy manuals related to AP, AR & Billing and Payroll, leading ad hoc system improvements and stepping in to assist in financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- develop policy and procedural manuals for accounts payable, accounts receivable, construction billings, service billings and payroll
- support the Controller in a variety of general accounting initiatives including financial support of new projects
- provide vacation coverage in key roles while other team members are out of office
Requirements:
- professional accounting accreditation (CPA or equivalent) along with 5 years experience in a senior accounting role
- experience working in a mid sized professional corporate accounting environment
- advanced Excel skills
- strong communication, documentation and writing skills
- experienced working on process improvements and driving incremental change
