Our client, a high-profile mid-stream company, is looking for an outgoing, dynamic and organized accounting systems analyst for a 3-month contract. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Systems Analyst is required to assist the Finance function with the implementation of a new ERP system including system testing, data validation, and process documentation.
Responsibilities:
The Accounting Systems Analyst will perform a wide range of duties in support of the Finance team and the ERP system implementation project.
These may include, but are not limited to:
- Perform data validation to ensure complete and accurate transfer of historical data
- Assist in user acceptance testing, identifying any system or process issues
- Troubleshooting and fixing finance related system issues
- Collaborating with IT and Finance team members to meet business requirements
- Documentation of new processes and procedures
- Training and supporting Finance team members in the use of the new system and procedures
- Review financial policies to ensure that any new procedures are in compliance with these
- Amend and document updates to internal controls (preventative and detective) to ensure quality
- Assurance over financial data is maintained
- Provide ad-hoc cover for existing Finance team members as required
Requirements:
- Some of the more common skills and attributes that are most needed for this role may include:
- CPA designation required
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an asset
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of handling tight deadlines and working under pressure
- Broad experience and knowledge of accounting systems and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with and train other finance staff
- Advanced computer software skills
