Horizon Recruitment Inc. is conducting a search for an Accounting Manager to join an exciting and growing team for our Property Management client. This individual will work closely with various departments including Property Accounting and Property Management, while overseeing a small team. 

 

Description:

  • Oversee the cycle day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable process
  • Manage the weekly cheque and EFT run as per set schedule
  • Ensure that invoices comply to the set A/P procedures and policies by coordinating with the Property Accountants and the Property Management team to resolve any issues
  • Liaise with inter-departments and vendors to resolve invoice issues, while still maintaining positive relations and communications
  • Post receipt batches in the system entered by Junior Accountant and Accounting Technician
  • Establish relationships with other departments to become the primary point of contact with respect to company payables, expenses, and receivables.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting, including preparation of account reconciliations and supervisory review of transactions and to ensure accuracy of coding.
  • Review Corporate bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of other corporate working papers
  • Develop Corporate process documents
  • Assist with analysis of financial result, and report to Management
  • Assist with the external audits and Canadian and US tax filing requirements
  • Train and mentor team members


Requirements:

  • University degree in Business or Accounting  
  • Designated CPA preferred
  • Supervisory/managerial experience  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Attention and strong review skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management problem-solving, and critical thinking skills 
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with other team members and senior management
  • Can work in a dynamic, collaborative, fast-paced environment and multi-task to manage changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent Excel skills desired, and Yardi Voyager experience would be an asset
