Horizon Recruitment Inc. is looking for an Accountant for one of our large clients on Vancouver Island, in Port Alberni. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. This is a contract for 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for generating accurate, timely and well-supported monthly and yearly financial statements
- Present results and aid with the analysis of financial statements
- Project and capital asset accounting
- Participates in key process improvement initiatives and provides manufacturing cost, operating and financial analysis to support business decisions
- Identify, resolve and/or implement changes related to accounting and control issues inherent in business processes
Requirements:
- An accounting designation or working towards one is preferred with 3+ years of experience
- 2 years of specific experience in an accounting role in a manufacturing or heavy industry with operational accounting exposure is preferred
- Experience with operations, project and cost accounting
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities in a growth oriented organization
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly
- Excellent communication skills.
